Roseola
Roseola is also known as exanthem subitum. Roseola may present as small, blanchable, macules or papules distributed on the trunk and the neck. The pink papules or macules may be confluent or discrete in nature.
Patient with Roseola may present with prodome symptoms and signs such as high fever with morning remission that finally follow with the eruption of the rash.
The common causes of Roseola may include primary human herpesvirus -6 and human herpesvirus-7 infection.
The treatment of Roseola is self limited by considering supportive treatment. However, anti viral medication is given to cases of Roseola in immunocompromised patient.
